Who We Are

St. Joseph Catholic Church Grimsby is a faith filled and growing faith community. We call each other family as we grow in the image of God – praying for one another – and form disciples to be witnesses of Christ in the world.

Our Parish Mission Statement is “We, the members of St. Joseph Parish, as followers of Jesus Christ, are committed to serving the Church, recognizing that our Church is a community of the People of God.”

Where to Start

Please know you are welcome here at St. Joseph! We gather as Church every weekend and there are five Eucharistic Liturgies to fit your personal and family needs. Find the Mass times below along with a brief description to give you a sense of the ‘flavour’ of the liturgy:

Saturday 5:00pm – This Mass’ liturgical music is led by an organist and cantor. This is the most solemn atmosphere of the five liturgies and generally attracts an older demographic.

Sunday 9:00am – This is for the early risers on a Sunday morning. The music at this Mass is very traditional in nature, sprinkled with some contemporary hymns and is led by an organist and church choir. This is attended by many parishioners.

Sunday 10:30am – This is specifically geared to young families. The music is led by our large choir with musical instrumentalists playing, keyboard, and guitar. There is a Children’s Liturgy program at this Mass for children aged 7-10 (who are taught at an age appropriate level during the Liturgy of the Word and return at the Offertory hymn) and also a Little Spirits program for children from 3-6 years old (receiving an age appropriate level throughout the Mass). This is our most attended Mass of the weekend.

Sunday 12:00pm – This Mass time is designed for those who enjoy sleeping in on Sundays 😊. The music is led by a small children’s choir and instrumentalist on the organ/keyboard. This is the smallest crowd of all 5 Masses.

Sunday 6:30pm – This is final celebration of Mass of the weekend. This time slot attracts those who may have to work on Sundays during the day, for families who find themselves committed with sports/ activities during the day, and for those who appreciate a charismatic liturgy. The music is very contemporary and involves many instrumentalists – guitar, base, keyboard, drums, and several cantors.

Please join us to worship God at a weekly Mass that will help you and your family deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ and gather as a community of faith. Please introduce yourself to Fr. Rico & Fr. Bill at the door of the church and meet other parishioners!
