What’s Happening at St. Joseph’s!

Alpha

Our next Alpha Session begins on January 20th at 7:15 and will run weekly until March 31st!

This is an incredible opportunity to learn more about your faith, a refresher for those who have been away from their faith or for those who are just looking to explore in a small group setting of friendly people

If you are interested in joining we ask that you please contact the parish office to register or use Get Involved link here. When you register, we will reach out to you closer to the date with the Zoom link so that we can connect while keeping safe.

We encourage you all to join us – and bring a friend – as we explore life, faith and Jesus together.

Join us as we DIGITALLY walk the way of St. Francis

The St Francis Way takes you 503 km through an ancient Roman road from Florence to Vatican,
following in the footsteps of Saint Francis across the peaceful Italian countryside.

Join us as we embark on a virtual journey to retrace his steps.

Register as a team (4), whole family or individually (will be assigned a team) and start on your way.

Check-in weekly and update your distance travelled so that we can share with fellow participants and
watch as you progress closer to Rome.

While we can’t all gather to walk together, this is a great opportunity to stay fit and socially engage
while being socially distanced.

Upon registration you will receive complete details regarding how the walk will go.

Join fellow parishioners in this fun adventure as we explore the life of a Saint by foot!

Super Bowl Squares

St. Joseph Church is once again hosting a Super Bowl Squares! The directions are simple: purchase a square, you will then choose the square or one will be assigned and then you wait! Once the board is filled – all 100 squares, then numbers are provided along the top and side. If at the end of a quarter, half or end of the game your square numbers match the score of the game then you win! Or, if your square is directly adjacent (left, right, above or below) the winning square you also win! As the numbers are assigned randomly, no football knowledge is required! All funds leftover outside of winnings will go towards the parish trip to World Youth Day in Portugal.

Get your square(s) before they are all gone! UPDATE – we are 65% SOLD OUT (as of Jan 22)

Communion and Confirmation for Public Schools

R.C.E.C

The Ministry of the Catechist is one of a partnership with families in our parish, wishing to bring their homeschooled, public schooled and private schooled students to the Sacraments of Communion and Confirmation, and in some instances Baptism. The privilege of walking along side families during this beautiful preparation phase is one of holiness.

Along the way, the First Holy Communion students encounter the person of Christ in their first Reconciliation, and then a few weeks later, the person of Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist. Students are encouraged to ask hard questions in this video and discussion based program.

Confirmation candidates are encouraged at a higher level to explore their relationship with Christ and why they are choosing the sacrament of Confirmation. Saints, Eucharistic Miracles and encountering Christ in every day life are themes we weave into our discussions, with video support.

Both programs currently use the Dynamic Catholic Curriculums.

Students needs are carefully considered, families are welcomed and encouraged into this process. Classes started January 12 so don’t delay- To register kindly call the parish office or speak to Samantha directly and for more information check out our “Becoming Catholic” page here

Interested in becoming catholic or learning more about your faith?

R.C.I.A

The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program for 2020-2021 began on Wednesday September 23.  It is geared to those who would like to enter the Catholic Church and receive the Sacraments of God.  If you know of someone who might be interested – invite them to come.  This is also a great opportunity for those who have been Catholics their whole lives but would like an in-depth teaching as to WHY we believe what we believe not just what we believe.  All parishioners are asked to prayerfully consider joining the RCIA program to help deepen their faith in the Lord Jesus.  To register – kindly call the parish office or speak to Fr. Rico directly and for more information check out our “Becoming Catholic” page here
