St. Joseph Parish Lenten Mission – METANOIA

METANOIA EPISODE 9 – “This teaching is hard”

Watch the movie 30 minutes before these three live sessions:

Mondays @ 12:30pm / Thursdays @ 7:30pm / Saturdays @ 11:30am

(The week of April 12th, Thursday’s session will be moved to 2:00pm due to Confirmation Liturgy in the evening)

Now into the Easter Season, Fr. Rico is encouraging all parishioners take Lent 2021 and Easter 2021 seriously. Instead of giving up chocolate, television, social media and the like this year – Fr. Rico is suggesting that all parishioners use the following tool as their preparation through Lent 2021.  How can the Holy Spirit truly move our hearts?

Parishioners are encouraged to participate in this mission  called METANOIA – which translated means, ‘conversion.’  This program is free to use for all parishioners who register with an email address.  There are 10 – thirty-minute videos  that encourage a sense of who God is and our longing to deepen our relationship with Him.

To register, please go online to www.wildgoose.tv and create an account with your email address.  You can either join for free, or wish to make a donation to promote the good work of the Franciscans who are providing such powerful resources.  Fr. Rico will be asking for donations at the end of the program that will be sent to support the work of the Franciscans. You do NOT need to register through the parish office – again kindly do so on your own.

All parishioners are encourage to watch ONE video a week and to take the weekly topic into your prayer life, analyzing your current relationship with God and how it can deepen and grow.  This will take us through the entire season of Lent, and then a few weeks into the Easter Season. You may wish to watch this series as a family, couple or as an individual. Each parishioner will then have the opportunity to reflect alone, perhaps by journaling or just reflecting all week.  Others may wish to watch my focus and reflection questions that I will offer each week.

For those who wish to participate or observe a group think, Fr. Rico is holding 3 livestream sessions each week to allow for dialogue, discussion and asking of questions.  These live sessions take place through the parish Facebook page (www.facebook.com/StJoesGrimsby) and are held at the following time slots to accommodate your schedule.

(Note – they are all uploaded to the Parish YouTube channel for those who do not use the Facebook platform).  Again, kindly watch the videos BEFORE these sessions – we will not be watching them together on Facebook (in case of internet crash, slow connection etc).

R.C.I.A

The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program begins in September and runs through the Easter season.  It is geared to those who would like to enter the Catholic Church and receive the Sacraments of God.  If you know of someone who might be interested – invite them to come.  This is also a great opportunity for those who have been Catholics their whole lives but would like an in-depth teaching as to WHY we believe what we believe not just what we believe.  All parishioners are asked to prayerfully consider joining the RCIA program to help deepen their faith in the Lord Jesus.  To register – kindly call the parish office or speak to Fr. Rico directly and for more information check out our “Becoming Catholic” page here
