Interested in becoming Catholic?

Contact the parish office to register for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program. This is an amazing Journey of Faith, where people who have never been baptized, were baptized in another faith, or perhaps are already Catholic but have not received all of the sacraments of the Church, come together and deepen their understanding of God, the teachings of Jesus and of the Catholic Church. There is no cost, exams, or pressures throughout!

This group meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from the Fall through the Spring and learn in an adult learning model that respects all educational, cultural, and religious backgrounds.

The RCIA leadership team is made up of the priests of the parish and some leaders of the community that love to answer questions, teach the faith and walk with those who may be wondering more about God and the Catholic Church.

Each year, many adults join this program and as they learn about God – their lives are transformed! There is no question that is too big or small in this group – and it quickly becomes a tight knit family – as a subsection of the greater parish family.

Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion are received at the Easter Vigil at the most important Mass of the whole year.

Call 905-945-2661 or email the parish – sjrc.grimsby@cogeco.net for more information.

What about for my children / for youth?

Contact the parish office to register for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) program. This is an amazing Journey of Faith for our young people who have never been baptized, were baptized in another faith, or perhaps are already Catholic, but do not attend Catholic School. This is a great resource for those young people attending public school, private school or home school to receive the sacraments of the Church. This is geared for children 7 years of age and older.

Parish Catechist – Samantha Pellegrino – leads these sessions for our youth on Tuesday evenings. RCIC runs from the Fall months through Easter.

If your son / daughter is under 7 years of age, please contact the parish and speak to Fr. Rico. He will meet with your family and prepare your children for reception of the sacraments on an individual basis.
